Entrepreneurs, if I asked you “What do fear the most?” most of you will abruptly say “Failure”, yet if we look around at the road to success of the most successful faces across the globe, failure seems to be an elixir to their journeys.
The list of failurelously-successful entrepreneurs cannot be complete without adding Elon Musk’s name to it. Known for making heads turn back with his unusual yet amazing thinking, Elon Musk wants to die on Mars, but this one-of-his-kind would prefer it not be on impact.
Arguably the world’s biggest dreamer, Elon Musk is the mover and shaker behind SpaceX, Tesla Motors, SolarCity, Hyperloop, and many more, Musk’s accomplishments are nothing new to the world. His secrets to advancements, innovation, and vision are a part of textbooks around the world. The super-cool “engineer”, that’s what he loves to be called, came to mainstream as a symbol of engineering, innovation, capitalism, technology, or hucksterism, by the mob globally.
Musk’s adventures are a bag filled with more failures than success, but still, the man is one of the most looked up to person by entrepreneurs globally. Some lessons which you should stick around are
Imagination Is Better Than Reality.
Musk remarks “I’m interested in things that change the world or that affect the future and wondrous, a new technology where you see it, and you’re like, ‘Wow, how did that even happen? How is that possible?”
Most of us give up on our dreams thinking they won’t ever see the daylight, focused just on “just getting by” we don’t think BIG. But isn’t imagination the reason behind the biggest success stories. Musk thinks like a 10-year-old- wondering without any limits. The truth is that imagination may not always help us to achieve big, but it will surely broaden our horizon, and as the Tesla man says never stop asking “What if?”
Criticism is the Key!!
Most of us shudder at criticism; it breaks us down and makes us a question or idea/product. Musk follows a very different approach towards criticism, it instigates him to prove the world wrong by working even harder towards his goal.
Elon Musk quoting one of his instances says that “When my friends get a product, I asked them don’t tell me what they like. Rather, tell me what you don’t like. And if I’ve asked that a few times, people will automatically start telling me, without me having to ask.”
On one hand, where compliments create happiness, Elon Musk proves that criticism gives rise to improvement.

This quote by Elon Musk has a remarkably crucial concept for hustlers to pay heed to. Going by the words of Musk if we want to thrive we need to put ourselves out there – be uncomfortable. Looking at the most successful names who gave the world companies like Amazon, Apple, Tesla, and more it’s pretty easy to figure out why they convulsed their regular markets.
Unlike many Elon Musk embraces failure, while talking about SpaceX he stated that the chances of his space exploration expedition succeeding are maybe just 50 percent. He is still taking the risk because he believes that “if something is important, then you do it, even if the odds are against you.” We can always make some adjustments, fine-tune it and start all over, armed with the knowledge experience brings along.
Failure is always optional, but if we don’t push the boundaries we’ll suffocate the innovation within-which can be instrumental.
